Fellowships

The Banyan Impact Fellowship (formerly AIF William J. Clinton Fellowship) is a fully funded 10-months program in India. Fellows serve with civil society organizations in various thematic areas including environment protection, climate justice, public health, education, livelihoods, arts, culture, and more. Fellows receive a stipend, health insurance, language training, mentoring, professional development, international networking and career opportunities.

Better Food Foundation has two remote one-year fellowships available, ideally starting this spring, offering $50,000 in compensation. The Research and Outreach Fellow will be responsible for supporting staff, especially research and outreach related to the national campaign Greener by Default. The DefaultVeg Campaigns Fellow will be responsible for supporting staff, focusing especially on campaign tactics, marketing, and promotion for the national campaign, DefaultVeg. 

The Bullitt Environmental Fellowship is a two-year, $100,000/year fellowship for one graduate student interested in pursuing leadership positions within the environmental field. Learn more and apply for the Bullitt Center Fellowship. 
 

Support communities to tackle their climate and community resilience issues while gaining professional experience! You will identify what the community needs and conduct your very own year-long service project from September through August. There are opportunities in Washington, California and Colorado. The Doris Duke Conservation Scholars Program at the University of Washington is a diverse, committed, and creative community from around the country that aims to change the face, practice and future of conservation. They are looking for undergraduate students who reflect cross-cultural perspectives with an emphasis on students from underrepresented groups in the conservation field. The United Nations Academic Impact and MCN proudly present the Millennium Fellowship. The Fellowship is a semester-long leadership development program on your campus to take your social impact to the next level. The Nathan Cummings Foundation Fellowship supports visionary leaders by giving them boundless space to turn an inspired idea in the field of social justice into a world-changing reality. The Fellowship awards three individuals up to $150,000 each to pursue an innovative project that seeks to address a challenge related to climate change or inequality – or within the intersection of these two major issues. An NCF Fellowship must align with at least one of the Foundation’s core focus areas: Inclusive Clean Economy; Racial and Economic Justice; Corporate and Political Accountability; and Voice, Creativity and Culture. Learn more about the fellowship program. 

National Wildlife Federation's EcoLeaders Program is currently seeking students to support our NWF EcoLeader Program. The fellow will receive a $3,000 stipend, professional development assistance and networking opportunities, and the possibility of academic credit for successful completion of the project, as an independent study or integration of fellowship project into course curricula. Learn more about EcoLeaders Program.

The Post-Landfill Action Network in Dover, New Hampshire, is a nonprofit network of students working towards zero waste on college campuses. They are seeking students with a passion for creating a more sustainable world . Learn more.

 RAY Diversity Fellowships offer 20 fellowship positions with portfolios including public lands and tribal engagement, science and policy research and analysis, finance and philanthropy, grassroots organizing, communications, education, managing wind energy projects, and more in the clean energy, conservation, and marine fields. These are two-year, full-time placement with one of our partner conservation or clean energy organizations with the goal of increasing and facilitating environmentally-related career pathways for emerging leaders of color.

Second Nature is committed to accelerating climate action in, and through, higher education. They mobilize a diverse array of higher education institutions to act on bold climate commitments, scale campus climate initiatives, and create innovative climate solutions. The Sustainability Fellow program at UNH pairs graduate and upper-class undergraduate students from throughout the U.S. with municipal, educational, corporate, and NGO partners in New England to work on innovative climate change and sustainability initiatives. This summer opportunity is for experiential learning, professional development and mentorship, which also provides a stipend to help cover living expenses. Learn more about the UNHSI program.

The Aspen Institute Program on Philanthropy and Social Innovation (PSI) in Washington, DC offers the William Randolph Hearst Endowed Fellowship to one student three times annually. The fellowship, based on academic excellence and need, is open to both undergraduate and graduate students of color. PSI seeks to introduce a diverse group of students to issues and challenges affecting philanthropy, social enterprise, nonprofit organizations, and other actors in the social sector. Scholarships

Are you passionate about renewable energy and in a related field such as science, public policy, law, economics, or sociology? The Renewable Energy Scholarship Foundation is offering 8+ scholarships for next academic year! Apply here.

Scholarships include full registration, entitling students to attend educational sessions, workshops, exhibits, tours of recycling facilities (subject to availability), social events, meals and the Washington State Recycling Association (WSRA) Annual Awards Banquet. Three nights’ lodging in the host hotel will be provided. In addition to attending the conference, scholarship recipients will receive free registration to all 2018 Washington Recycles Every Day (WRED) events organized by WSRA and held around the state. Apply online. 

Are you a sophomore or junior with a demonstrated commitment to the environment? Check out the Udall scholarship, offering up to $7,000 each and a weekend orientation. The scholarship program identifies future leaders in environmental, Tribal public policy. and health care fields.
