Mae Hong Son, Thailand

Climate change has created severe droughts during recent years in Northern Thailand. Located in Mae Hong Son province, the communities of Na On and Kud Sam Sip have obtained government approval to build a 17-mile pipeline from a natural spring to their villages which are at 3,800-ft elevation. In addition to the six-inch PVC water pipeline, the project will build two concrete sedimentation tanks to remove suspended particles and two 2,500 gallon concrete water storage tanks.

The villagers began constructing the pipeline in February 2022, and it was completed in June 2022. The pipeline provides a safe and reliable source of water for approximately 1,400 people per day. Read the final report.
