Graduate Overview

The Albers School of Business and Economics educates managers from around the globe to be effective leaders - both in their professions and their communities. In the Jesuit tradition of educating for leadership and service, you are challenged with ethical issues in business throughout the curriculum. In a global business market, graduate education offers you an invaluable competitive edge - and the Albers School of Business and Economics offers flexibility to match your individual goals.

Roughly 80% of the students at Albers work full-time while pursuing a graduate degree. Each class meets once a week in the evening. Combining work experience and academic coursework allows you the opportunity to troubleshoot real issues in class and apply what you have learned the next day in the workplace. The flexibility of the schedule allows you to start any quarter and finish your degree at your own pace. Many classes are given in both Seattle and Bellevue, so you can decide which one is more convenient.

Albers students come from diverse backgrounds and disciplines, adding to the richness of the educational experience you will receive as a student here. We also attract faculty from around the globe, with professors from Asia, Europe, Latin America, and New Zealand, as well as throughout North America.

Competitive Programs for Working Professionals

Albers has earned a reputation as one of the best business schools in the country. We are an AACSB accredited school, a distinction held by only a small percentage of the country’s business schools. The part-time MBA program is ranked 25th in the nation by BusinessWeek in their "Business School Rankings & Profiles 2009" and 24th in the nation by U.S. News & World Report in their “America’s Best Graduate Schools 2010” edition. Our Executive Leadership Program is ranked 21st by U.S. News & World Report  and among the top 10 in the nation in Executive Training Programs for Social Responsibility by CRO magazine. The Princeton Review ranked the Albers MBA program number nine nationally in the category of “Greatest Opportunity for Women” in 2008. The Princeton Review also cites Albers in the 2010 edition of their student driven "Best 301 Business Schools" publication.

Although Albers is proud to be the largest part-time MBA program in the Northwest, the distinction has not affected our ability to provide personal attention to our students or keep our class sizes small enough that cohesive student groups form. This allows you not only to become acquainted with your professors and benefit from personalized discussions with them, but also to talk with your fellow students about new concepts and ideas. Faculty members, not teaching assistants, teach classes and are available to assist you when needed.
