Learning Outcomes - Anthropology

Seattle University undergraduate Anthropology students should be able to:

  • Understand the “anthropological perspective” which is defined as the understanding of cultural history and significance in human experience.
  • Working knowledge of the major principles and theories of cultural anthropology.
  • Ability to apply the anthropological perspective to assessments of their own life, culture and engage in cross-cultural comparisons.
  • Ability to perform anthropological interpretations of selected cultural issues.
  • Have a working knowledge of anthropological research methods and the ability to interpret anthropological literature.
