Sustainable University Revolving Fund (SURF)

 

The Sustainable University Revolving Fund (SURF) was created last year by the former ASSU administration and this is the first year that it will be put into effect.  SURF will consist of a board of five students, a student advisor and financial advisors from facilities.  The main purpose of SURF is to find economical and ecological improvements on campus.  The SURF committee will take propositions from any and all students and select the best propositions that will make our University more ecologically sound.  For example if a student makes a proposition to make all lights in the Student Center solar powered then SURF would fund the project and get back all of the money that the university saves in the long run.  The committee will always get money back from the projects that it puts money into and use that money for another ecologically sound investment.
