Preparing ethical and reflective professionals for quality service in diverse communities

The Professional Certification Program provides the necessary coursework for teachers earning the second level of teacher certification in Washington State. Students work closely with Professional Growth Teams to write their Professional Growth Plans, which they implement during the following school year. During the Culminating Seminar, students prepare a portfolio demonstrating their positive impact on student learning.
Beginning in September 2010, two program options will be available for the program: the Graduate option in which credits earned for Professional Certification may be applied to several different master's degree programs in the College of Education and the Post-Master's option for teachers who have already earned a master's degree and wish to join a learning community that operates at a faster pace. Candidates will complete the program by June 2011.
