Justice Education Forum 2009-2010 - Africa: Past, Present & Future...Africa 101: An Overview of African History, Culture, Colonialism and Its Impacts |
| Description: |
Magis invites alumni, students, faculty, staff and the greater community to participate in the first of a three part series that will explore the great continent of Africa and its past, present and future. Africa is often narrowly portrayed as "a dark continent" full of problems such as AIDS and poverty. Yet, there is a richer, more complex story of Africa to be shared.
This first event will engage the community in a dynamic conversation around Africa's past. SU's Global African Studies Program Professors Femi Taiwo and Saheed Adejumobi will facilitate a conversation around African history and culture, colonialism and its impacts. A dessert reception will follow in Pigott Atrium. We hope to see you there! |
