The Program

The International Development Internship Program (IDIP) is an academic program that instills among students a deeper understanding of and lifelong commitment to the Jesuit mission of service and promotion of social justice. This understanding and commitment is acquired by students through engagement in development work with international non-government organizations (NGOs) in developing countries.

The Research for Development Graduate Program (RDGP) is an academic program centered around enhancing social justice through research. Graduate students are provided a framework for understanding the importance of research by NGOs for international development endeavors and the implication of these endeavors for the global community.

The Students

Approximately twelve students are selected participate in each program. Students must have a 3.4 grade point average or higher to apply and be of junior, senior, or graduate class standing within the university.

All students submit an application with recommendations and a summary statement stating why they wish to be considered as a candidate for the program. Students are required to be interviewed by a committee.
