Charlie was the Co-Editor-in-Chief of his school Yearbook and served as Photography Editor for two years before that. Charlie was also a two-term Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Rogue News and in that position instructed and taught design skills to students. He also served as leader of his school's Queer Straight Alliance, and through that, he started a campaign to reform the sex education curriculum at his high school to be more inclusive. He was also involved in his school’s anti-drug coalition, varsity tennis, Young Democrats, and philosophy club.
