Kimi Yokoyama (she/her/hers), identifies as a Japanese woman. Academically, she is one of the top students in her class at Mid-Pacific Academy which is a rigorous prep school located next door to the UH Manoa campus. Her curriculum is full IB, the most rigorous available at her school. In a proposed final nine, Kimi is yet another student extraordinarily talented writer. She wrote an evocative "why SU" essay about flying in to Seattle on the fourth of July with "hundreds of fireworks like a meadow of flowers beneath my feet, lighting up the city of Seattle below." Kimi is a standout in the sport of rifle. She was a competitor in the State of Hawai'i's individual championships. She has also distinguished herself in Model UN, the Air Force's Cyber Patriot program, in contemporary dance as well as ballet, and is a malacology volunteer at the Bishop Museum. Her post education ambition is research science.
