Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA)

For information on student's rights in the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), please refer to the following information and forms. 

Student employees with access to student records/data are required to take Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) training to work on campus.

Online staff and faculty FERPA training is provided through Human Resources.

FERPA Annual Notice to Students

Seattle University's annual notification to students regarding the confidentiality of student records, which is in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974.

FERPA Guidelines (76-9)

Seattle University has adopted the FERPA Student Records Guidelines to protect the privacy of the education records of its students.

Directory Information Removal or Prevention Disclosure Form

Students are able request that Seattle University withhold their directory information from any third party; this same form can be used to remove that request.

Inspect and Review Educational Records Request

For students requesting to inspect their educational records.

Data on individuals or groups of students issued to campus representatives by any administrative office of the university is for internal use only.

  • Aug 31- Grades Due by Noon, 10-week Session
  • Aug 31- Last Day to Withdraw From Intersession Classes
  • Sept 5- Labor Day Weekend: No Classes
