Redhawk Launch
Redhawk Launch is a two-day experience for you and your family to join us on campus in July to learn about essential campus resources and find your flock of new friends. We strongly encourage you to attend Redhawk Launch so you can be prepared to start classes in the Fall. However, participation is not a required part of Orientation.
Redhawk Launch takes place on the following dates in July:
- Monday, July 1 – Tuesday, July 2
- Monday, July 15 – Tuesday, July 16
- Thursday, July 18 – Friday, July 19
For all sessions, Check-In on Day 1 starts at 1:00pm and the Closing Session on Day 2 ends at 2:00pm (followed by an optional Campus Resource Fair). Please do not finalize travel plans to attend a Redhawk Launch session before you receive confirmation of your RSVP, as space for each session is limited.
We recognize not all students and families can travel to campus in July. A one-day Redhawk Launch will be held on Friday, September 20. Sign-up priorities for this session are given to international students, students and families traveling from Hawai’i, and our far-flying Redhawks from out-of-state.
- Students: Log into your Orientation Portal and click on the “Orientation Events” tab. There is no fee to attend Redhawk Launch. The cost of this program is included in the Orientation Fee that is part of your Fall Quarter bill.
- Guests: After students sign up to attend Redhawk Launch, they can add up to 2 guests to their RSVP.
There are no additional fees to change which Session you plan to attend. If you have already signed up for Redhawk Launch and would like to change which Session you plan to attend, please follow these steps:
- Up to one week (7 calendar days) before the start date of the event: Please visit the Orientation Events tab in your Orientation Portal and select a new date.
- Less than one week (7 calendar days) before the start date of the event: Please email orientation@seattleu.edu.
GUESTS
There is an $85 fee for each guest who attends Redhawk Launch, which covers meals and program supplies. Overnight housing is not provided for Guests. Guest fees can be paid with a debit or credit card. The guest fee must be paid at the time of signing up. Only students can log into their Orientation Portal to access and complete the RSVP form for Redhawk Launch. We strongly encourage students and any guests to complete their RSVP form together so you may coordinate dates and travel plans.
CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
- RSVPs for in-person events close one week (7 calendar days) before the start date of the event.
- Cancellations can be made at any time, however, may not include a refund. If you need to cancel your RSVP, please email orientation@seattleu.edu.
- If you must cancel a guest’s RSVP, a refund (minus transaction fee, approximately 2.3% plus $0.30 per transaction) will be provided up to one week (7 calendar days) before the start date of the event. The exact cost of the refund is subject to the card holder’s specific bank or credit card company and cannot be determined by Seattle University.
- Students do not have to pay a cancellation fee; the cancellation fee is only applicable to guests.
- Refunds will not be provided after one week before the start date of the event.
- Refunds are not provided for no-shows.
After you submit your RSVP, you will receive a confirmation email that you have a spot at the session you signed up for. You and your guests will also receive a confirmation email if you sign up any guests. Two weeks before your session, we will send you a reminder email that includes a packing list and instructions for parking and arrival to campus.
