Pursuing a career in accounting is a smart choice for several reasons, among them high employer demand and significant earning potential. Many in the accounting profession are also in positions of senior leadership, for good reason. Albers Associate Accounting Professor Dr. Saucedo says it well when he describes accounting being about 'creating useful information so a company can make good decisions for long-term business success'.

MSAA Early Start Program

Seattle University Accounting undergraduates can Early Start their MSAA program.   Please contact your undergraduate adviser for more details as soon as possible to make the scheduling feasible.  Transfer students are encouraged to contact their adviser as soon as they have been admitted or in fall quarter itself.

What does this involve?

  • Undergraduate Students can take three courses worth 9 credits, which will earn you undergraduate credits and MPAC credits:
    • Participate in the VITA program by enrolling in ACCT 3365 (Service Practicum) which is offered in the winter quarter
    • ACCT 4310 (Advanced Financial Accounting) is offered in spring quarter
    • ACCT 4360 (Federal Income Tax 2) is also offered in spring quarter
  • Undergraduates can take up to 20 credits paying a fixed undergraduate fee.
  • These courses will be waived in the MPAC program so that you will need only 36 credits to graduate with an MPAC. This reduces the cost of the MPAC program as the fee is per credit-hour.

Questions? Contact your undergraduate adviser or Chips Chipalkatti (Chair, Accounting Department) at chipalka@seattleu.edu or Ching Tsao (Senior Admin. Assistant)  at ctsao@seattleu.edu for an appointment with Chips.
