Arts and Sciences Scholarships

Helping To Fund Your Future

The College of Arts and Sciences offers scholarships for current students based on financial need, academic achievement, and community engagement. Students need to follow the application instructions . These scholarships are offered in addition to financial aid you may receive through Seattle University. In addition to the scholarships listed below, students in the College of Arts and Sciences receive generous support from alumni, friends and community partners who fund a variety of scholarships across departments and disciplines.

  • Select “Scholarships” from the list on the left hand side.
  • All the scholarships that you are eligible for will be shown.

Our College Scholarships

An annual scholarship award for a full-time undergraduate student in the College of Arts and Sciences, in order to enable students to complete their baccalaureate degree in four years.

Specific scholarship award amounts will be confirmed with SFS prior to distribution.

Approximately $5,000 a year to multiple recipients (over 3 quarters each year).

Eligibility criteria:  

  • Enrolled as a full-time, undergraduate student at SU.
  • US legal permanent resident or citizen with a valid FAFSA on file with Student Financial Services.
  • Enrolled in a major within the College of Arts & Sciences.
  • Demonstrated financial need, strong academic potential, and active interest in community service.
  • Preference is given to students of Chinese ancestry and to a student having graduated high school within 2 years of enrolling at SU.

For Conflict Resolution and Peacemaking

Awarded to full-time College of Arts and Sciences students at SU with a commitment to the principles and practices of peacemaking, restorative justice, mediation, group reconciliation, or similar areas of informal conflict resolution.

Specific scholarship award amounts will be confirmed with SFS prior to distribution.

Approximately $2,000 a year (over 3 quarters) for one recipient.

Eligibility Criteria:  

  • Enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at SU  
  • Junior or higher standing upon receipt of the scholarship funds  
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher  
  • Enrolled in a major within the College of Arts and Sciences
