Music

The Music Program at Seattle University nurtures several choirs and a series of chamber music instrumental ensembles, offering opportunities for both vocal and instrumental musicians. In addition to building a solid musical foundation of fundamentals, history, theory and composition, students apply their skills through regular private music lessons and participation in one or more of the department's thriving musical groups.

The Seattle University Choirs consists of two auditioned ensembles (University Chorale and Chamber Singers) and one non-auditioned ensemble (University Singers). The choirs perform in concert at least once each quarter and engage in meaningful artistic collaborations. They perform both secular and sacred music from a broad range of traditions and time periods. All students who enroll in a choir, maintaining a B average grade, are eligible to receive merit and/or service scholarships.
