AI dominates conversation at internal audit and data analytics conference
Race is on to deploy AI for value and ROI
Artificial intelligence is still very much top-of-mind for internal auditors. That was the takeaway at this year's internal audit and data analytics conference organized by the Accounting department, a continuation of the AI conversation from last year's event.
'The Future is Now: Real World Applications of AI in Internal Audit' saw a busy Student Center 160 filled with auditors and compliance professionals listening to various experts on how they leveraged AI in their organizations.
"I had the privilege to be part of a panel discussion with other thought leaders to discuss how AI is changing the world of internal audit and what lies ahead," said Mudit Gupta, Partner at PwC, on LinkedIn. "PwC's Seth Bergeson and I had an opportunity to talk to the audience about Responsible AI and how internal auditors have a critical role in progressing and promoting responsible use of AI."
"Had an amazing time at 'The Future is Now: Real World Applications of AI in Internal Audit hosted Albers'," said Carrie Pokrefke, Senior Audit Manager for BECU, on LinkedIn. "There were so many great presentations and lots of interesting nuggets of information."
Seattle University is one of seven Centers of Excellence designated by the Institute of Internal Auditors that go above and beyond in helping to prepare the next generation of internal audit talent. Every year, the Accounting department hosts a conference on internal audit and data analytics on campus.
'The Future is Now: Real World Applications of AI in Internal Audit' was organized in partnership with the Seattle chapters of the IIA and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
The next internal audit conference takes place on October 25, 2025. Look back at the speakers and what was discussed in 2024 on the conference page.
