Dr. Niranjan “Chips” Chipalkatti presented his co-authored paper, ESG Disclosure Scores and Indian Banks: A Search for Relevance, at the 99th Annual Conference of the Western Economic Association International (WEAI) in Seattle, Washington from June 29 to July 4, 2024, and at the International Association of Jesuit Business Schools in Sydney, Australia from July 14 to 17, 2024.
Dr. Valentina Zamora presented collaborative work under the title, STARS and Student Engagement for Sustainable Colleges and Universities, at the 2024 Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) Conference in Anaheim on October 27 to 29, 2024. The presentation was made alongside two other universities about the use of sustainability reporting tools as a Living Laboratory opportunity to engage students in sustainability projects and strategies for planning at their respective schools.
Dr. Chipalkatti and Professor Dennis Applegate were awarded summer 2024 research grants of $7,100 each, made possible through the support of Seafirst-Paul A. Volpe Research Fellowship. Dr. Chipalkatti’s work is under the paper title, Intangible Assets, Information Asymmetry and Real Earnings Management of S, G, & A Expenses. Professor Applegate’s research is titled Assessing Enterprise Risk: Key Training for the Next Generation of Internal Auditors.
