About this Program

With a Graduate Certificate in Accounting, you can gain general or specialized knowledge in accounting, further your professional formation, and work toward professional certifications such as CPA, CIA, CISA, CMA, or EA. Or simply use accounting knowledge gained at the Albers School of Business and Economics to enhance your success in related management roles.

Learning Outcomes

Once you complete this program, you’ll be able to:

  • Evaluate the implications of an economic event by applying the principles you learn here
  • Synthesize accounting information and place it in context with other business functions to help make decisions
  • Weigh the ethical, stakeholder and stewardship implications of alternative accounting decisions
  • Determine how strategic risks relate to financial reporting, tax and audit using literature, surveys and other research data

Applicants must have

  • A minimum of an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution
  • Competency in statistics
  • (Optional) Official scores from the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) or the Graduate Records Examination (GRE)

Certificate Requirements

This certificate requires at least 15 credit hours of graduate courses.
