Economics Professor Holds Basic Financial Literacy Workshop at the Indian American Community Services Seniors Program

Professor Meenakshi Rishi said financial literacy skills are essential for realizing life's goals, no matter what stage of life one is at

Meenakshi Rishi, the Howard J. Bosanko Professor of International Economics and Finance, delivered a Basic Financial Literacy workshop at the Indian American Community Services Seniors Program on October 3rd.

The room was packed with an engaged audience who learned more about budgeting, saving, investing, credit building, borrowing and safeguarding against fraud and scams. Rishi said these skills are essential for realizing life goals,  no matter what stage of life one is at. "This is the cornerstone of my Financial Markets class at Albers," she added.

The Indian American Community Services (IACS), founded in 1984, is the longest serving Indian community-based organization in the Pacific Northwest, according to its website. The IACS has organized programs for irs senior members aged 55 and older.
