Mentoring Objectives & Scope
My primary objective as a mentor is to provide the support that students are looking for, tailored to their individual goals and concerns. At the start of the mentorship, I will ask expectation-setting questions to better understand each studen's needs, allowing me to align my approach with their specific objectives. I will focus mainly on monthly group meetings, structured around a prepared topic for discussion, followed by an open Q&A session to explore any additional topics that students wish to address. While group meetings will be the primary mode of engagement, I will also offer one-on-one sessions for those who prefer more individualized support. Overall, my goal is to create a flexible and responsive mentoring environment, adapting to what the students seek from the experience.
When and where do you hold meetings with your students?
100% in person--Coffee shops and cafes around Capitol Hill or on campus.
