Background

Job Description

As a digital product manager for Brooks Running, I help identify runner (customer) needs and work with my engineering and user experience partners to build out features and programs to create frictionless, enjoyable points of brand engagement.  I collaborate with eCommerce merchandisers, marketers, customer experience and physical product designers to bring products and programs to market through our digital suite of touch points leveraging data and analytics to prioritize and iterate on features and work streams.

Company Description

Brooks has never been good at standing still.  Since 1914, we've been propelled by a never-ending curiosity with how humans move. Because, to us, movement is the key to feeling more alive. Our shoes, gear, and experiences all have a singular goal in mind. We want to make sure each run, walk, and workout is better than before - a simple enough principle that guides every design and engineering choice we make.

Employment History

I've been in Seattle tech for 24 years with a focus on streaming media, mobile apps and eCommerce and Omni-channel retail experiences with brands including  Aol., Napster, Nordstrom, lululemon and now Brooks Running.  I have significant experience in project and program management, agile development and 15+ years of technology product management.  I love to build, grow and lead teams or contribute directly to product development and am an evangelist for product-led business development.

Education

MBA, Seattle University, 2009
Concurrent Bachelors of Arts in Anthropology and Italian, University of Washington, 1999

Mentoring Objectives & Scope

I look forward to helping students understand the breadth of different career possibilities available to them in technology development and help them set goals and plot strategies towards them for their next career challenge.

When and where do you hold meetings with your students?

Hybrid (mix of in-person and virtual). I live in Ballard and work in Fremont so those are the easiest locations for me during the day Tuesday - Wednesday.  I work remotely Mondays and Fridays so have more flexibility to travel elsewhere.  I could meet in the north Seattle, Downtown or Capitol Hill areas some afternoons/evenings.

Additional Information

I am proud to be a woman in technology who arrived via a non-traditional path.  I look forward to helping SU students understand the possibilities available in technology development and how they might foray into product management or grow their practice.
