The Career Engagement Office welcomes employers interested in engaging with our students and alumni through various programs and opportunities.

Our External Relations team looks forward to working with you to design a customized recruitment strategy. Whether you’re looking to post jobs, internships, hold interviews, attend career fairs, promote your brand on campus, career treks, job shadows or anything else career-related, we are here to support you meet your recruiting goals.

Handshake

Handshake is the first stop students make when looking for these opportunities, and the service is free to students and employers. Here are some tips for registering:

  • Make sure to fill out your Company Profile as completely as possible for students to review
  • Make sure the email address you provide is your official business email account, such as YourName@YourCompanyName.com
  • You may also choose to participate in Talent Engagement Opportunities (events, interviews and career fairs); simply click on the appropriate tabs in Handshake and follow the prompts for further instructions.

Industry Mentors

We are currently enlisting innovative, talented and successful professionals from diverse industry backgrounds, who are interested in varying degrees of student engagement. This program allows employers and industry professionals to connect with students seeking career development assistance while promoting their brand on campus.

Career Treks

Designed to give students a chance to see what working at your organization would be like, these opportunities provide students with insight into your organizational culture, various career opportunities and your recruiting process. During these site visits, students can hear directly from hiring managers and employees (especially alumni) about what they should be doing to prepare for a career in your industry.

Engineering and Tech Takeover

Popularly known as ETT, this is a series of career events and activities that bring together students, alumni and employers for networking, recruiting, industry and career education. Organizations can participate in specific career education and development topics; for example: How to ace a technical interview, early career salary negotiation etc.

Coffee Chat/AMA

Casual meetings or Ask Me Anything sessions (virtual or in person) for recruiters/alumni in individual or small group settings with students. During these events, representatives may share insights about their industry, company culture and tips for a successful application process and career success. Organizations are asked to provide food and beverages during these sessions. To connect with student clubs and organization please contact a member of our external relations team.

Career Fairs

Fairs bring a variety of organizations in various industries and students with diverse experiences and backgrounds. Employers from across the region and beyond attend to engage with the best and brightest Seattle University undergraduate and graduate students and alumni. Career Fairs are held in fall and winter quarters.

Interviewing on campus

Interviewing on campus is a convenient way to recruit Seattle University students for internships and career roles. Reservations for on-campus interviews are taken for Fall, Winter and Spring quarters each year. Log in to Handshake and click “Request an Interview” on the homepage.

Social Media Takeover
