About this Course
Worldwide approximately 800 million people lack access to electricity. This course focuses on technological solutions to energy poverty, which primarily afflicts people living in less economically developed countries. Topics include: design and analysis of off-grid electrical systems such as renewable energy-powered energy kiosks, solar home systems and micro grids; energy poverty; development practices. Data and case studies from systems in Zambia, Kenya and elsewhere are used to enrich the course.
