About this Course

Engages students in an examination of health care policies that lead to or detract from a just and humane world. Students examine the ethical, socioeconomic, political, legal, and power considerations in the development of state and national health care policy. They engage in critical analysis of health care policy, with a goal of developing leadership skills to influence policy at the local, state, and federal levels by educating policy makers. Focus is on professional values, advocacy, and cultural diversity issues, as well as discussion and evaluation of the health care policy process. Registration restrictions may be bypassed by the department with permission of instructor.
