PUBA-3910 : Urban Transportation Policy

This course will examine the transportation systems and infrastructure that surround us. Students will explore the histories of how transportation has developed and evolved in the United States, to understand the systems we have today. Students will unpack ongoing transportation policymaking processes, developing a critical lens for assessing the regulatory frameworks, funding structures, institutions, and stakeholders that shape transportation policy. Additionally, students will be asked to critically analyze our systems and responses through extensive use of case studies, readings, and films; and to reflect on the issues of transportation justice from a wide variety of vantages. At the end of the term, students should be able to effectively analyze transportation policies and processes, and formulate well-conceived and just solutions for the future.
