Welcome New Redhawks!

As you begin your journey to becoming a Redhawk, Orientation Programs will be here alongside you each step of the way!

Orientation is a hybrid experience that includes online tasks, virtual workshops, and in-person events on campus. The purpose of Orientation is to provide you with the tools needed for a successful transition to college life at Seattle University.

First-Year Students - 2024 Orientation Timeline

In-Person Events - Save the Date!

In-person events for first-year students are an opportunity for you and your family to join us on campus to connect with current Seattle U students, faculty, and staff, learn more about what it means to be a Redhawk, and get ready for classes to start in September! These include the following:

  • July 1-2: Redhawk Launch Session 1
  • July 15-16: Redhawk Launch Session 2
  • July 18-19: Redhawk Launch Session 3
  • August 22: Commuter Connections Family BBQ
  • September 17-19: Early Bird Immersions
  • September 20: Redhawk Launch Session 4
  • September 21-28: Fall Welcome

More details about in-person events will be shared via email on Monday, May 20, 2024.

Virtual Components

Virtual components include:

  • New Student Checklist tasks
  • Online Orientation Modules
  • Academic Advising and Course Registration workshops
  • Campus resource workshops hosted on Zoom
  • Social opportunities hosted on Zoom

Virtual components for Orientation will begin launching on Monday, May 6, 2024.

The Orientation Portal

Your Orientation Portal is a central hub for navigating your transition to college. It is the home of your New Student Checklist and your go-to spot to sign up for virtual and in-person events. We’ll send you weekly emails with updates and reminders to let you know when new tasks become available and when event sign-ups go live. You can access your Orientation Portal starting on May 6, 2024 by logging into your Admissions Portal and clicking on the "Orientation Portal" button. 

New Student Checklist | First-Year Students

The New Student Checklist is a list of all required tasks you need to complete before starting classes in September. The information below is the same as you will see on your New Student Checklist in your Orientation Portal, however, you need to complete these tasks in your Orientation Portal. Please review he list below to learn more about the required tasks you need to complete before you arrive on campus.
