Biography
Anne Colpitts grew up in Eastern Washington. She graduated from the University of Puget Sound with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and studied abroad in Spain, Guatemala, and Mexico. After finishing her master’s degree, she worked in non-profit organizations and K-12 education in San Francisco for several years. She started her career in higher education at Green Mountain College in Vermont, where she taught Spanish, Latin American literature, and first-year writing courses and was Director of International Programs. After returning to Washington in 2012, Anne transitioned into academic advising, working first at Seattle Central College and then at Shoreline Community College, primarily with transfer and international students. Anne is passionate about building connections with students and supporting their academic and personal growth throughout their academic journey, as well as about making our higher educational institutions more equitable and welcoming to students of all backgrounds. When not at work, you can find Anne exploring Seattle’s waterways by kayak or reading cookbooks to plan her next epic baking adventure.
