Biography

Cassandra Rodriguez Giannakis is an Associate Professor in the department of Teaching, Learning, and Social Justice. She began her career in education by teaching middle and high school mathematics at a STEM public school in the Seattle area where she developed and enacted project-based learning curriculum. Next, Cassandra managed a non-profit program focused on retaining educators of color through cross-college and cross-district collaboration, and community-centered programing. Cassandra began working in the College of Education in 2018 and was eager to rejoin the university from which she previously graduated with a Bachelor or Arts in Humanities for Teaching and a Master in Teaching degree.
