Biography

Geneva Lasprogata Sedgwick - Curriculum

For twenty-five years, I have been a dedicated teacher/mentor, scholar, and administrative leader, passionately committed to social justice and transformative learning. My career has been marked by taking on numerous roles, including directing our University’s Summer Program and creating both online and residential high school programs. Currently, I lead the MBA in Sport and Entertainment Management where with my team, I have reimagined the curriculum, expanded our unique mentor program, and strengthened our industry relationships, all to benefit our graduate students.

My leadership philosophy is grounded in humility and compassion. I believe in recognizing and celebrating the unique talents each person brings to the table. For me, leadership involves active listening, collaboration, inspiration, empowerment, and most importantly, making a tangible and positive impact for everyone involved.

As a tenured full professor of business law in the Albers School of Business and Economics, I have contributed my teaching expertise to various programs, including the MBA in Sport and Entertainment, Executive MBA, Professional MBA, graduate business analytics, and undergraduate programs. My innovation in developing online courses, particularly in law & ethics and business analytics, has been recognized on Microsoft's EdX platform and is now available on LinkedIn Learning.

My research delves into the intersection of human rights and emerging technologies, the potential of cross-sector partnerships for sustainable and ethical businesses, and advocating for women's equality across diverse sectors. My work aims not only to produce scholarly papers but to create impactful research that resonates deeply with the community, driving authentic and meaningful change.

Beyond titles and research, I am dedicated to curating inclusive and holistic educational experiences. By placing people at the center of the learning journey, I strive to empower my students to become bold changemakers in both industry and civil society.
