Biography

Dr. Kate Elias has a PhD in American History from Rutgers University and served as the Director of Academic Advising and Learning Support Services at Linfield College prior to her transition to Seattle University. She has previously served as an advisor at Oregon State and Rutgers, and also has experience working as an admissions counselor.

As Assistant Dean for Student Academic Services at SU, Kate oversees academic advising services in the College of Arts and Sciences. As both an Assistant Dean and an academic advisor, she works with A&S students at all academic levels and from a variety of majors. Kate specializes in helping students overcome academic and personal difficulty and making and meeting their personal and academic goals. Outside of the AASC, she hangs out around Capitol Hill and downtown trying out new restaurants or bars, exploring new parks and places, and spending time with her family. She is an avid hiker and enjoys camping and outdoor activities in and around Puget Sound.
