In college, she spent a semester in Buenos Aires, Argentina studying Social Movements and Human Rights and developed a passion for traveling, languages, and living abroad. After graduating from Creighton, Katie completed a year of post-graduate service with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps where she worked as a community organizer in affordable housing in New York City. Still feeling the itch to live abroad, she moved to Honduras where she lived for three years teaching at bilingual schools and serving as a Program Manager for an educational nonprofit. She then returned stateside and has spent the past four years working as a Student Support Coordinator with Communities In Schools of Mid-America at Guadalupe Centers High School in Kansas City, MO.
