Thomas J. Mann

Thomas Mann is a Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor at Seattle University. He received a bachelor's degree in philosophy and history from the University of Michigan - Flint. Then, he earned an MA in philosophy from the University of Memphis. He received his PhD from Johns Hopkins University in 2023. His research focuses on feminist political theory (especially Simone de Beauvoir), social ontology, and disability studies. He is also working on an intellectual history project on the Trinidad-born sociologist Oliver C. Cox. His work has appeared in Environmental Justice, Dialectical Anthropology, and nonsite. At Seattle University, he teaches courses on political theory, American constitutional law, and social movements.
