Review the historical timeline of the College of Education

Founded in 1935, the Seattle University College of Education has a long and distinguished history of preparing ethical and reflective leaders who are making systemic changes from the classroom to the boardroom. Inspired by the Catholic intellectual tradition and the Jesuit ethos, SU’s College of Education prides itself on preparing students not only for educational careers but also for leadership for a just and humane world. This ethos permeates the education students receive in the College’s 11 graduate programs and numerous certificate and continuing education options.

In the past eight decades, the College of Education has graduated more than 11,000 students. Our alumni work as administrators, teachers, counselors, school psychologists, principals, superintendents, deans, community college faculty, corporate trainers and human resources professionals, college and university presidents, and business and nonprofit executives.
