We all know someone who has encountered a mental-health condition, or you may have experienced it yourself. Stress, anxiety, sleep difficulty and depression are just a few issues university students often face. Seattle University’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) offers a wide variety of services for mental-health related concerns, yet there is a great need for additional resources on campus to serve SU students.
This year the class of 2016 voted on the Mental Health and Wellness Endowment for their Senior Class Gift Campaign. The Mental Health and Wellness Endowment will:
- Increase staffing for CAPS with a trained suicide prevention specialist
- Free up existing counseling staff for students with non-life-threatening concerns
- Implement an accredited mental-health model geared towards reducing suicidal behaviors
The Seattle University Class of 2016 asks you to please invest in the well-being of future generations of Redhawks, and make a gift to the Mental Health and Wellness Endowment.
