Laudato Si' Action Platform

In response to Pope Francis’s invitation to higher education institutions, Seattle University's (SU) President Peñalver signed a letter of commitment in September 2021 to participate in the “Seven-Year Journey Towards Integral Ecology” and the Laudato Si’ Action Platform (LSAP). The LSAP Leadership team finalized, in February 2023, SU's Laudato Si’ Action Plan, which includes four main priorities that span across campus operations, departments, and partnerships.

Laudato Si’ Action Platform Commitment

In September 2021, President Peñalver signed on to the Laudato Si' Action Platform (LSAP), in response to Pope Francis’s invitation to higher education institutions. As stated in the foundational goal of Seattle University’s Reigniting Our Strategic Directions 2022-2027 “We will commit to institutional participation in Pope Francis’ seven-year journey toward integral ecology, through the Laudato Si Action Platform and in community with other catholic universities.”
