The Institutional Review Board and Office of Research Oversight

We ensure institutional compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as university policies. The IRB is registered with the U.S. Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP) and the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS). Its Federal Wide Assurance (FWA) has been approved by the OHRP.

OneAegis

OneAegis is the submission portal for all IRB proposals. It is linked to your SU account, and you therefore use your SU username and password to log in.

CITI Training

CITI training is required of researchers working with human participants by most IRB offices within the United States. If you have a CITI account, choose "Log In" and proceed. If you do not have a CITI account, click "Register," then enter Seattle University for "Select Your Organization Affiliation," and check appropriate boxes before clicking "Continue..." Enter first and last name, and your SU email address only. After registration, click “View Courses for Seattle University.”

Office of Human Research Protections

The OHRP, within the Department of Health and Human Services, is the federal authority that issues guidance on the welfare and protections of individuals involved in human subjects research. The OHRP is also the authority with whom U.S. institutions register their IRBs and obtain their FWAs.
