Liturgical Music

Music Ministry animates the community’s worship through music, vocal and instrumental.

Chapel-Choir

Chapel Choir

Chapel Choir provides music at the Sunday masses in the Chapel of St. Ignatius, and also at special university liturgies throughout the year.  The Chapel Choir also offers participants a small faith community with whom to pray and develop meaningful friendships. Membership is by audition, but vocalists of all experience levels are encouraged to apply.

Chapel Instrumentalists

Chapel Instrumentalists support and enhance the sound of our music in worship.  Woodwinds, strings, percussionists, guitarists and keyboard players are welcome.

Please contact Fred Seymour, Campus Minister for Liturgical Music by email or at 206-296-6031 for more information about any of these opportunities, or fill out a Catholic Student Leader Sign Up form to apply.

Music Selection Team

The advisory team meets weekly to discern the meaning of the scriptures and curate songs appropriate for the Chapels regular Sunday masses. The team's work is informed by its members' life experience, personal prayer, and a study of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops' "Sing to the Lord" document. This is a great way to be deeply involved in our work of liturgical music, whether as an alternate or supplementary way of participating in Chapel Choir activities.

Light & Shadow

In 2016 the Chapel Choir released its first album, titled Light & Shadow. You may purchase it for $10 in Campus Ministry, or at the Chapel.
