Rev. Dr. Michael Reid Trice, director of the Center for Ecumenical and Interreligious Engagement, has received the Gwynne Guibord Award for Excellence in Interreligious Leadership.
Rev. Dr. Michael Reid Trice this month was awarded the Gwynne Guibord Award for Excellence in Interreligious Leadership. A national award bestowed once a year across religious, civic and university life, the Guibord Award is given “… to a leader who has worked closely with leaders of many faiths and traditions to explore and uphold the experience and presence of the holy.”
Dr. Trice, director of the Center for Ecumenical and Interreligious Engagement (CEIE) and Spehar-Halligan Professor, accepted the Guibord Award on Oct. 10 in Nashville. The award is named for the late Rev. Dr. Gwynne Guibord, founder and president emerita, who created The Guibord Center – Religion Inside Out after working for decades with leaders of many faiths and traditions. Past Guibord awardees include Sister Simone Campbell, Professor Diana Eck and Dr. Tarunjit Butalia.
