Post-election, gather together for an evening of uplifting music, prayer and sacred movement at a Concert for Community, featuring the Yuval Ron Ensemble.
The Seattle University Center for Ecumenical and Interreligious Engagement (CEIE) is presenting the concert, happening 7 p.m. Thursday, November 7, in Pigott Auditorium.
Led by award-winning composer, producer, writer and peace activist Yuval Ron, the Concert for Unity will unite East and West, Hebrew and Arabic and the sacred and secular to create an exhilarating musical journey full of joy, hope and spirituality. Think of it as a celebration of unity shared by all people regardless of nationality, race, religion or culture.

“The concert will be elevating, inspiring, deeply moving and potentially life-transforming for some,” says Ron. “Do not miss the ecstatic female dervish Banafshed Sayyid, the master Rumi chanter Khawaja Ehrari, Armenian woodwind master Norik Manoukian and Jewish-Moroccan singer Elinor Sitrish.”
Kara Markell, assistant director of CEIE, looks forward to hosting the concert.
“At CEIE we are delighted to be hosting the Yuval Ron Ensemble at an important inflection point in our shared civic life, just two days after the presidential election,” says Markell. “It is our hope that the Concert for Unity moves us beyond divisive rhetoric and partisanship, into a deeper place of connection with one another. We want everyone that attends to experience renewed peace, resilience and hopefulness.”
Following the concert, attendees can enjoy a meet-and-greet with the artists at a reception just outside the auditorium.
Register for tickets to be part of what will no doubt be an unforgettable experience.
