Men’s Basketball scores the win, 79-70, against crosstown rivals the UW.
Christmas came early for Seattle University Men’s Basketball, which bested the University of Washington 79-70 in the “Battle for Seattle” on December 23 at Alaska Airlines Arena at the UW. This was the 40th matchup between the crosstown rivals and the win snaps the Huskies 19-game winning streak against the Redhawks that spanned 48 years.
Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe had career highs of 23 points and 16 rebounds and John Christofilis scored 21 points in the win for SU. SU's last win in the series came nearly five decades ago on Nov. 28, 1978. This game will be long remembered for Redhawk fans.
