Dr. Butch de Castro has been appointed the next Dean of Seattle University’s College of Nursing and will hold the Robert J. and Mary H. Bertch Endowed Professorship in Nursing Leadership, he will join Seattle University on July 1 2023.

A Certified Nurse Midwife, Ellis is a parent and transgender and non-binary person using he/they pronouns. They are passionate about the need for clinically competent and culturally proficient care for transgender and gender non-conforming patients and for health care environments that welcome people of all gender identities.

Doctor of Nursing Practice Nurse-Midwifery Program Granted Continued Accreditation for 10 Years

The Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME) has granted continued accreditation to the Nurse-Midwifery program for ten years, the maximum allowed. Since 2009, the Nurse-Midwifery program at Seattle University has prepared 65 MSN and 79 DNP graduates, as well as 6 post-graduate certificate midwives all of whom provide critically needed care in the U.S. and around the world
