The Office of Strategic Initiatives provides direct guidance and coordination for the overall strategic effort, and tactical engagement and support with the many working groups required to achieve our institutional outcomes.

About Our Office

The Office of Strategic Initiatives at Seattle University is comprised of three teams that work to enable the success of our institutional goals:  

  • Strategic Planning and Implementation
  • Accreditation and Assessment
  • Decision Support 

Responsible for institutional strategic planning and guiding its implementation, the Office of Strategic Initiatives provides support for strategic planning, campus engagement, communication and change management, project management, and collaboration platforms and tools.  With the foundation and five goals outlined in "Reigniting Our Strategic Directions," the office is committed to spearheading transformational changes that align with Seattle University's mission and vision. Directing the strategic effort as a whole and providing tactical engagement and support to numerous working groups, the Office of Strategic Initiatives plays a vital role in ensuring the realization of institutional outcomes. 

Reigniting Our Strategic Directions

Guided by and in support of our mission, Reigniting Our Strategic Directions articulates the important work Seattle University must do over the next five years to further our mission and to advance the long-term vision for the university.

Strategic Planning and Implementation

Responsible for institutional strategic planning and guiding its implementation, the Office of Strategic Initiatives provides support for strategic planning, campus engagement, communication and change management, project management, and collaboration platforms and tools.

Accreditation and Assessment

Assessment of student learning, student achievement, and fulfillment of the university’s educational mission is central to meeting accreditation standards, and OSI is leading efforts to strengthen assessment practices and make effective use of assessment data.

Decision Support

Decision Support team is responsible for all central (enterprise) reporting, analytical tools, dashboards, scorecards, institutional research, and ad-hoc analyses. Bringing together the functions of institutional research and business intelligence, Decision Support is a “one-stop shop” to support data-informed decision making.
