Seattle University's College of Education has received from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation a three-year, $2.2 million grant to work in partnership with six publicly funded charter schools and three traditional public schools across Washington.

Associate Professor Awarded NSF Grant to Study History of the Milky Way

Dr. Hughes Clark, associate professor of physics, was recently awarded funds from the National Science Foundation (NSF)—along with collaborators at three other primarily undergraduate institutions, Western Washington University, St. Martin’s University and the College of Idaho—to obtain and analyze new observations of some of the oldest stars in the Galaxy to understand which originated from “globular clusters,” spherical groups of thousands of stars bound together by gravity.

Dr. Agnieszka Miguel, professor of electrical and computer engineering, was recently awarded $800,000 from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to increase diversity among electrical and computer engineering (ECE) faculty by supporting women and others from backgrounds that are historically underrepresented in ECE fields.
