LTC Marty Lepak
Professor of Military Science
Lieutenant Colonel Martin D. Lepak was born and raised in Wisconsin. He enlisted in the Army Reserve in 1985, where he served through the rank of staff sergeant as a human resource specialist. In 1997, he completed Officer Candidate School at the Wisconsin Military Academy where he was commissioned a second lieutenant. Throughout this time, he was assigned to units under the 416th Engineer Command.
From June 1997 through December 2002 Lieutenant Colonel Lepak served as a combat engineer platoon leader with A Company, 397th Engineer Battalion (Corps Mechanized), a support platoon leader in the 652nd Engineer Company (Multi-Role Bridge), and as an Aide de-Camp for the Deputy Commanding General 88th Regional Readiness Command.
In 2003, he entered Active Duty through the Army Reserve Active Guard and Reserve program. He served from 2003 through 2006 as the Assistant Operations Officer with the 844th Engineer Battalion (Combat Heavy) and deployed to Kuwait and southern Iraq from December 2004 through December 2005. From 2006 through 2008 he commanded the 770th Engineer Company (Construction Support). From 2008 through 2012 he was an Assistant Professor of Military Science for the Michigan State University Army Reserve Officer Training Corps program. After completion of the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, Lieutenant Colonel Lepak served as the Operations Officer for the 489th Engineer Battalion. From October 2013 through June 2014 he deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan serving as the Operations Officer, then Executive Officer and Acting Battalion Commander. From January 2015 through August 2016 he served as a Maneuver Planner, I Corps Headquarters as part of the I Corps Army Reserve Engagement Team. On October 1, 2015 he was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and on September 8, 2016 he reported to Seattle University as the Professor of Military Science.
His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal. His military education includes the Engineer Officer Basic and Captains Career Courses, the Command and General Staff Course and the Reserve Component National Security Course. He has two tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with duty in Kuwait and Operation Enduring Freedom with duty in Afghanistan.
Lieutenant Colonel Lepak earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Teaching from Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota and Masters of Science degree in Management from Keuka College in 2008.
Lieutenant Colonel Lepak and his wife Jerilynn live in Gig Harbor, Washington and have three children. Devante is twenty-two years old, Dominick is eighteen years old and Zion is thirteen years old. Jerilynn earned her PhD in Mathematics Education from Michigan State University and is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics Education at Seattle Pacific University. Devante is a Sergeant in the Michigan National Guard and he and Dominick live in East Lansing, Michigan. Zion is a student at Gig Harbor Goodman Middle School.

Master Sergeant Stiles hails from Alameda California. He entered the active duty Army on 9 November, 1995. He attended and graduated One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Knox Kentucky as an Armor Crewman (19K).

MSG Stiles currently serves as the Senior Military Science Instructor at Seattle University, (Red Hawks), Seattle Washington.
MSG Stiles’ military and civilian education include: Armor One Station Unit Training; Combat Lifesaver Course; Warrior Leader Course; Advance Leader Course; Senior Leader Course; Army Planning, Programming, and Budgeting System Course; Equal Opportunity Representative Course; Battle Staff Non-Commissioned Officer Course; High Risk Personnel Security Course; Operational Security Manager Course; Contracting Officer Representative Course. MSG Stiles is currently pursuing an MBA in Business Management with a concentration in Human Resources.

MSG Stiles has been married to his wife Jessica for 21 years, they have 3 kids, Andy 21, Alex 20, and Cailey 15.
