Seattle University SciTechathon

SciTechathon is a weekend event where high school seniors gain exclusive access to Seattle University’s physics, electrical and computer engineering programs. Current students and faculty welcome these prospective students for a reception dinner, campus tours, a variety of workshops and question-and-answer sessions. Attendees also participate in and perform collegiate-level science experiments. 

Attendees are high school seniors interested in pursuing a degree in physics, electrical or computer engineering.

This is a unique chance to interact with current Seattle University students and faculty. They can share their current and post-graduate experiences, as well as answer questions you may have about student life. In addition to facility tours, you have the opportunity to perform experiments in our well-equipped laboratories.  

We hope you learn just how enriching and exciting an education at Seattle University can be. We already know we have great teachers and that our students form a close-knit community. We want you to see for yourself how it feels to be part of the student body, to conduct experiments in state-of-the-art laboratories and to plan for a future full of science. 

Prospective students who wish to attend SciTechathon must first complete an application to Seattle University. Both a Seattle University application and a SciTechathon application must be received in order to attend. 

After your SU application and SU SciTechathon application have both been received, faculty from the Department of Physics and Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering will review your information. If selected to attend, you will receive an invitation near the end of March. 

SU SciTechathon is free to invited attendees. Accommodations at a local hotel will be provided and meals at the event are included. Partial airfare reimbursements for the attending student are available.
