Important Travel Advisory for SU Community
Text of a March 10, 2025 email sent to all Seattle University students, faculty and staff outlining a possible travel ban that may potentially affect several Muslim-majority countries.
Important Travel Advisory for Seattle University Community
Dear Seattle University Community,
Recent news reports indicate that the Trump Administration may implement a new travel ban as early as this week, potentially affecting several Muslim-majority countries as well as Venezuela and Haiti. As we prepare for Spring Break at Seattle University, we want to be sure any student or member of our faculty and staff that could be impacted is aware of relevant guidance and available resources.
At this time, we do not know of any SU students currently abroad or scheduled to travel abroad for spring term who would be affected by the potential ban. However, any members of our community who might be impacted are advised to be prepared and plan accordingly.
Most importantly, we want to reiterate Seattle University’s commitment to our non-citizen students. You are valued members of our community, and we are here to support you in whatever ways we can. A new page, including resources for students, faculty and staff who are or may be impacted by federal executive actions, is available on SU's website. Please reach out if you need assistance.
Sincerely,
Laura Spitz
