Feedback Invited on Reigniting Our Strategic Directions
The Reigniting Our Strategic Directions work is well underway and I am thankful for the engagement and feedback we have received thus far.
Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,
I trust you are enjoying the beauty of fall in Seattle. As I mentioned in my initial communication, the Reigniting Our Strategic Directions work is well underway and I am thankful for the engagement and feedback we have received thus far. The current draft of the goals document can be found on the Reigniting Our Strategic Directions webpage, which also contains a link to provide feedback. The following is a brief update of what we accomplished in October and what comes next.
Our Progress
I have met with our campus community, including Academic Assembly, Staff Council, Alumni, Regents, schools and colleges, students, faculty and staff to continue our conversations regarding our strategic goals. As part of these campus engagements, we hosted two open forums that provided excellent feedback and sparked thoughtful discussions. We are using the feedback garnered in these discussions and from the Reignite page to continue to refine each strategic goal.
What’s Next
We will incorporate additional input from the campus community in the document and I will seek final approval of the revised document from the Board of Trustees at its mid-November meeting. For your ideas to be considered for inclusion in the draft document prior to the review by the Trustees, please provide that feedback by November 9. At the same time, we have begun the early planning for working groups necessary to implement our strategic goals. You can expect an update on those working groups in December before the holiday break.
Respectfully,
Eduardo M. Peñalver
