This course is an Introductionduction to learning disorders for students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Topics covered perception of disabilities across cultures, reasons for the overrepresentation of various racial and ethnic groups in special programs, the effects of second language acquisition on current classroom learning, and the assessment and intervention for culturally and linguistically diverse students with learning difficulties.
